Philip School Stairs

American Contracting and Consulting (ACC) partnered with the Haakon School District in Philip, South Dakota, for a vital infrastructure project. The task was to replace around 270 feet of old exterior stairs and a sidewalk on a hillside, which had an elevation gain of about 40 feet, posing safety and accessibility issues.

ACC efficiently demolished the deteriorated structures and poured new concrete to construct durable, modern stairs. Beyond the basic construction, ACC also focused on enhancing the area with landscaping and implementing erosion control measures to ensure the longevity and stability of the new stairs and surrounding hillside.

This significant upgrade has dramatically improved safety and accessibility for students, enabling a more secure and convenient route to and from school.
